Description

Question: What is the difference between taking 8 capsules of the BCAAs or the drink mix Amino Formula (AF)*?

A: If you are using AminoFormula, you are getting all the BCAAs you would need for recovery including muscle protein synthesis (MPS). Otherwise, endurance athletes will use Recover & Build (isolated BCAAs) for delaying fatigue. I placed a related FAQ below. (if you are using AF for recovery/MPS purposes, no need for Recover & Build/BCAAs).

FAQ

Q: What is the difference between Recover & Build formula (branched-chain amino acids [BCAA]) and Amino Formula?

Amino Formula and Recover & Build (BCAAs: leucine, isoleucine and valine) are 2 amino acid formulas that are used based on a person’s goal. The Recover & Build formula contains only the BCAAs and is primarily used by endurance-type athletes to delay fatigue, improve reaction time, reduce pain perception and maintain vigilance. Others, also use it for exercise recovery, especially during calorie restriction (dieting) since isolated BCAAs are also needed for this purpose, but again, the recovery function is inferior to the result using the Amino Formula.

The AminoFormula contains the BCAAs in a high dose and the 5 other amino acids that collectively activate MPS (eliminating any limiting factor from BCAAs only in stimulating MPS) and therefore, is our most popular exercise recovery formula because its superior to the BCAA alone as it relates to exercise recovery and triggering MPS. Most serious athletes/exercisers we work with use this product. It comes in multiple flavors, and all are vegan friendly. Don’t Waste Your Workouts

If you’re participating in resistance training but not providing your body with the nutrients it needs to grow, you might be wasting your workouts.

When you build muscle or improve performance, you need to supply your body with sufficient protein.

More specifically, you need to supply your body with a sufficient amount of the amino acids that are found in protein.

Amino acids are what your body uses to repair the damage that you inflict on your muscle tissue during every workout.

If your muscles don’t receive enough nutrients, including amino acids, their growth potential is severely limited.

And there are some amino acids that our muscles seem to prefer, especially during strenuous endurance activities and calorie restriction.

What are they?

The branch chain amino acids leucine, isoleucine, and valine.

When you provide your body with sufficient branch-chain amino acids, you may reduce muscle damage and soreness and potentially enhance recovery from exercise.

BCAA supplementation during strenuous endurance-type activities may help reduce fatigue and improve multiple choice reaction times (MCRT) through its ability to contribute as an energy source during prolonged training, potential to block serotonin production and reduce lactate levels.

Branch chain amino acid supplementation may be especially useful for recovery from continuous high-intensity activity, extended exercise bouts, or prolonged energy restriction.
